Lesley F. Bistline was the owner of an award winning cattery for over twenty-six years. Her cats achieved numerous honors in their show careers, including regional and national awards.  During that time she, as a breeder, earned designations of “Cattery of Excellence” from the cat organization, C.F.A. as well as “Outstanding Cattery” from another cat organization, T.I.C.A. To achieve these standings, a cattery must be inspected once a year by a licensed veterinarian and pass strict standards. She has shared her extensive knowledge of all cat related issues in this book, providing her unique perspective on such varied topics as; adopting versus purchasing a cat, personality differences among cats and how to work with each type of personality, care and upkeep of your cat included household as well as many other subjects important to single or multiple cat owners alike.

Her first book “Hairballs in the Morning, surviving and thriving in a multi-cat household’ was designed to help the often overwhelmed owner of multiple pets. It received excellent reviews both in her local paper, the Daily Times, as well as a New England publication. She appeared on television on Fox channel 29, and was welcomed to book signings. After being approached with questions, both at book signings as well as many times during her showing career, she decided to try and answer many of them in a new truly comprehensive book format.

Humane care of animals, particularly cats, is her passion and she has a deep commitment to help educate other cat owners on easy and effective ways to make their lives and that of their pets the best they can be. She hopes to do this through her writings as well as educational lectures, done with humane issues at the forefront.

She remains a respected member of long standing with the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association {M.C.B.F.A}, an organization dedicated to the welfare of Maine Coon cats.

She currently lives in Boothwyn,Penna.,with her husband of thirty-one years and her remaining, now retired, show cats.  She is also the proud owner of one dog, an eight year old Japanese Chin.
